ABOUT

STRAATSTREET is an independent digital record label started in 2007 by C.E.O.G. What started out as any other rap/hip hop label has been transformed along with its founder into a tool of the Lord. C.E.O.G was raised in the city known to most as the " murda capital ". New Orleans, Louisiana is where this O.G. earned his stripes. As a young man growing
up he went from good to bad in record time. Brought up in the church by a loving single mother and his
very religious grandparents he could have become anything he chose. Instead he went the other route
and thugged all the way out. Adopting the "G" mentality he spent his high school years running with gangs, drinking,  getting high and fighting every chance he got until he was expelled from most of the schools in the city. Labeled an " Outlaw " he jumped all the way off the porch and landed head first in the " game". He spent the next twenty years eatin' out the streets. Doing any and everything to make a dollar.

Eventually, after numerous arrests he was finally sentenced to 10 years and 8 years on two seperate charges for a total of 18 years. This story should end here, but for the grace of God. After an appeal denial 18 months later he was shipped upstate to serve out his sentence. When his sentence was recalculated he learned that his time had been run concurrent leaving him with a ten year sentence.
But it doesn't end there. After serving over four years he was informed that he was still eligible for parole.  Before the year was over he was back on the streets. There's something different about him now. No, he didn't get soft, he's still a G. Still walks, talks and looks like a G. Only his mentality has changed.

He now understands how God watched over him his whole life. He understands that if he had not went to prison when he did he might not be alive today. He sees how God allowed him to make the mistakes he did and still survive. He now knows that his past does not define him, but it refined him. It made him the perfect tool to go into the streets and witness to his brothers and sisters still lost in the hoods of the world. That they can relate to someone like him who has lived the life they are living and can tell them of the Glory of God and how much He loves them. He decided in 2009 to back away from making more gangsta music to poison another generation of lost souls and instead to persue this musical ministry he calls Ganxta Gospel. The STRAATSTREET label is officially launched and 2010 begins his mission... to bring G'z to GOD!
